It's probably the most famous beach in Nerja. Maro beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain, a spectacular cove of intense blue colour and vegetation. It is located under the cliffs of the Sierra de Tejeda (known as Maro).

In spite of being very well-known, as it is not in a central area it does not have too many agglomerations. The Maro cove in Nerja is one of those destinations you must visit if you are on the Costa del Sol.

Do you want to see the sunrise from Maro beach? We warn you that if you get up a little early, you will be able to see one of the most beautiful sunrises in Andalusia.

Maro Beach, how to get there?

To get to Cala de Maro from the town of Nerja you have to take the N-340 towards Almería. When you reach the roundabout of the Nerja cave, you have to take the first exit towards Maro. You will cross the whole town, and after passing the Hotel Playa Maro take the exit to the right. You will see greenhouses and cars already parked. Soon you will see a sign with a barrier indicating that you have reached the beach or cove of Maro.

Please note that Cala de Maro can be very crowded during the summer season, as it is a small space on the coast of Nerja.

The beach of Maro in Nerja is considered to be one of the best beaches, if you have the opportunity don't miss this beautiful place. You will enjoy its intense blue and sand, but also the good climate of the Costa del Sol. Discover the town, because it has real beauties.
